E-TANODA'S CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

    I. Introduction and Definitions

The purpose of the E-tanoda Program’s Child Protection Policy is to provide safety and appropriate support for all children participating in the program. The policy identifies potential risks that may affect children during E-tanoda’s activities and clearly defines unacceptable behaviors. Every person involved in the program — mentors, staff members, and volunteers — is obligated to ensure the safety of children throughout the entire duration of the program.

    -    All new staff members and mentors must undergo safe selection procedures, including background checks, reference verification, and interviews.

    -    To ensure data protection, all personal information — especially that of children — must be treated confidentially and used solely in connection with E-tanoda activities.

    IV. Training and Awareness-Raising

    -    All mentors and staff members must participate in child protection training, which includes familiarization with the policy, recognition of unacceptable behaviors, and safe interaction with children.

    -    The child protection policy and its procedures are reviewed annually and updated as necessary.

    V. Child Protection Officer

    -    The designated Child Protection Officer (CPO) in E-tanoda (the general project coordinator) is responsible for investigating cases, ensuring compliance with the policy, and taking necessary actions.

    -    The officer’s name and contact information are made available to all program participants.

    VI. Reporting and Complaint Procedures

    -    Any suspected case of abuse or violation of the policy must be reported immediately to the Child Protection Officer.

    -    Reports must be submitted using a dedicated, easily accessible form that clearly records the relevant data, observed events, and required actions.

    -    In the interest of child protection, reported cases will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities as required by law.

    VII. Community-Based Approach

    -    Children themselves are involved in shaping E-tanoda’s Child Protection Policy to ensure that their perspectives and experiences are reflected.

    -    The policy continuously responds to current best practices, the needs of the affected community, and the specific characteristics of the program, including the involvement of local professionals working with children, parents, and other stakeholders.

    VIII. Public Accessibility of the Policy

    -    The policy is public and available on the E-tanoda website, both in its full version and in a child-friendly version.

    -    The policy is not merely a document; its principles form an integral part of E-tanoda’s culture and the behavior of all participants.

    IX. Regular Review and Development

    -    The Child Protection Policy is reviewed annually and amended as necessary to ensure compliance with current child protection standards and program needs.

    -    E-tanoda is committed to the continuous improvement of child protection and ensures that all stakeholders act in accordance with the spirit of the policy throughout the program’s duration.

    X. Final Provisions

The Child Protection Policy is mandatory for all individuals participating in E-tanoda activities. It is valid and enforceable from the date of its entry into force.
