Creative contemporary mentor communities

With the support of the Our Common Values Programme, the E-mentoring Program implemented the project “Creative, Contemporary Mentor Communities” between February 2025 and January 2026. The aim of the project was to strengthen young people’s legal awareness, develop the social sensitivity of peer mentors, and support students’ creative self-expression. Throughout the project, educational, community-based, and creative activities were implemented that contributed to young people’s active social participation and strengthened community-based learning processes.

PROJECT COMMITMENTS AND RESULTS

Development of the JOGOS! - legal literacy card game

One of the main outcomes of the project was the creation of JOGOS!, a print-and-play card game designed to support the development of legal literacy in a playful way. The aim of the game is to help students recognise situations related to their rights through everyday scenarios, understand the differences between rights violations and lawful behaviour, and practise self-advocacy and responsible decision-making.

Five university students participated in the development process - Amina Flóra Gulics, Mendel Jankovics, Eszter Keresztesi, Laura Márta Lőkös, and Zsófia Sándor-Dombay - coming from backgrounds in education, psychology, and media design. They developed the concept of the game together and later tested it with students.
From the E-mentoring team, the development process was coordinated by Lilla Lukács, while Zsófia Máthé supported the administrative and professional processes. The visual design of the game was created by Dorka Kovács, and the legal content was reviewed by Emese Hargita Vörös.

The game is freely available for download on the E-tanoda website and is complemented by a teacher’s guide and an online quiz, which support its educational use.

“Words and Colours for Justice” - Art Competition

Within the framework of the project, E-mentoring launched the “Words and Colours for Justice” art competition for students in grades 5–12. The aim of the competition was to encourage young people to express their thoughts about rights, justice, and community life through creative means.

The competition was organised in three categories:
    - Create with Colours and Shapes (visual artworks)
    - The Power of Words (written works)
    - Thought in Motion (videos, music, and movement-based content)

The call for submissions was open between 20th October and 16th November 2025, and nearly 60 entries were received in various genres. An exhibition of the submitted works was organised and could be visited between 7th and 20th January 2026 in the lobby of the ELTE Faculty of Education and Psychology building on Kazinczy Street. The award ceremony and exhibition opening took place on 10th January 2026, combined with a drama pedagogy workshop.

The online exhibition is available here (Click Here!).

GG! Good Games Ideathon

The GG! Good Games Ideathon was organised as the closing event of the project, where high school students worked in teams on their own game ideas. Participants attended a game development training session, where they learned the basics of game design and created their own Game Design Document (GDD), which defines the goal, target group, theme, and mechanics of the game. The event brought together 30 young participants, who worked in five teams on their projects. The ideas covered a wide range of concepts - from tabletop card games to digital computer games.

The training was led by Lambert Tóth, a game developer at Primal Game Studio. The goal of the event was to give students insight into the process of game development and encourage them to explore social topics in a creative way.

Organisational Development Results Within the Project

The project not only created new opportunities for students but also strengthened the organisational capacity of E-mentoring. Thanks to the support:

- the E-mentoring website was partially renewed, becoming more transparent and user-friendly,
- the team expanded with a new part-time staff member,
- the organisation’s social media presence became stronger,
- and four mentor training sessions were implemented, several of which produced materials that will serve as professional resources for future use (Download!).

Long-term Impact

As a result of the project, new educational and community tools have been created that will continue to support the development of young people’s legal awareness, creative self-expression, and the practice of peer mentoring in the long term. The developed games, methodological materials, and training resources will remain available on the E-mentoring Program website, and you will continue to encounter them regularly on our social media platforms, training sessions, and - hopefully soon - across the country.
