It is a great honor for us that the E-mentoring program has been awarded the first prize of the Best European Roma Youth Project Award 2025. The award is granted by the Phiren Amenca International Network to initiatives that exceptionally support the development and opportunities of Roma youth across Europe.

The evaluators selected the winners in November-December from nearly 80 projects from countries all over Europe, and the award ceremony took place on 9 December 2025 in Brussels.

What does this award mean?
The Best European Roma Youth Project Award aims to recognize inspiring, innovative, and community-strengthening projects that support the participation, identity, self-organization, and social engagement of Roma youth across Europe. The recognition that comes with the award is not only a prestigious professional acknowledgment but also provides opportunities for further development, international visibility, and new collaborations.

🏆 The Awarded Project: E-mentoring
The joint application by E-mentoring and Impact Games - E-mentoring and Romoji: A Game of Representation, a Program of Empowerment - was born from the belief that Roma youth need not only opportunities but also visible, authentic stories in which they can see themselves. The project offers an interactive game (Romoji, freely downloadable from Google Play and the App Store) and an educational guide for mentors and educators (see the Download! section), promoting positive representation of Roma identity, boosting self-confidence, and fostering inclusive communities.

In addition to the €5,000 prize, the project will be featured in the awardees’ publication and widely showcased on the European stage, supporting E-mentoring’s further international connections and collaborations.

What does it mean to us?
This award is a tremendous recognition of all the work carried out by our mentors, students, and everyone who contributes to building E-mentoring every day. Our project has always aimed not just to be an educational platform, but a community space where disadvantaged youth’s voices can be heard, their creativity can flourish, and they can engage with society in a way that honors their own stories.
