In March, mentors and mentees from all across the country learned together for nearly 200 hours. These sessions were filled with successes, challenges, motivating words, and hopeful moments. In E-mentoring’s approach, engagement and motivation are two key elements - without them, it is impossible to make learning enjoyable for children who have already experienced many disappointments in this area. And alongside all this, we did much more…

Mentor training: interactive even online

We started March with an online training session, where we worked with more than 30 of our high school mentors on experience- and connection-based mentoring. This included the RJR model (tuning in - meaning-making - reflection), which forms the foundation of our sessions. In addition to teaching tools and awareness-raising, our current topic - closely related to mentoring - was bullying. Through interactive exercises, participants explored boundary-setting and online safety. A regular part of all our trainings is that mentors share their experiences and challenges with each other, and this session also ended in this way. It was great to hear that many mentor-mentee pairs are working smoothly, so we heard many success stories - as well as, of course, some challenges.

Romoji: now an international good practice!

A In the first week, we received exciting news: our educational mobile app, Romoji, has been recognized as an international good practice. Romoji was developed as part of an international collaboration within an Erasmus+ project and has now reached several thousand downloads. We are especially proud that Romoji is the result of community collaboration: study halls, colleges for advanced studies, and our partners all worked on it together. This recognition also means that we can inspire others in the future. Campaign closing: #youarenotalone

Our social media campaign marked by the hashtag #youarenotalone has come to an end. As a result, we launched a series of posts on online safety both in the previous and the current semester, generating hundreds of reactions and comments. We consider it important to challenge victim-blaming myths, so we paid special attention to addressing them: neither clothing nor behavior justifies harassment.

Where will E-mentoring be in 5 years? - Vision workshop

We held a vision workshop with our mentors, where we reflected together on E-mentoring: what works well, what could be improved, and how we can strengthen the team. The workshop was both a planning session and a community-building opportunity. Our mentors were happy to share their opinions and participated very actively. High school training on social media use


We worked with a group of high school girls on the topic of social media use and digital safety. Through interactive activities, we discussed bullying, online conflicts, and possible solutions. The students were highly engaged, sharing many of their own experiences and thoughts.

Romology Conference and the Gandhi High School

We also visited Pécs to attend the 14th Romology Conference organized by the Department of Romology and Sociology of Education at the University of Pécs. Our project coordinator, Lukács Lilla, and project assistant Lőkös Laura presented a talk titled “Digital Mentoring and Competence Development: Impact Assessment of the E-mentoring Mentoring Program and Introduction of the Romoji Educational Application.” After the conference, we visited the Gandhi Gimnázium, where we gained insight into the institution’s pedagogical practices. …and a great afternoon in Gilvánfa

We closed the month in Gilvánfa, where we held a training session focused on the risks of the online environment. Topics included digital safety, conscious internet use, and bullying.
