The Explorers! program is launching as part of the Roots and Wings Foundation’s Solidarity Women’s Program grant framework. Within this initiative, E-mentoring has chosen to focus on online safety, as disadvantaged children - especially girls - are often even more vulnerable in the digital space. Today, they learn, connect, and play online, but unfortunately, this is also where they often experience the most bullying and abuse.

In the coming months, we will support children through trainings and educational content to help them recognize dangerous situations, understand their rights, and know that they are not alone.


The project’s specific goal

We hope that the project will provide children with tools that help them navigate the online space with greater confidence, more easily recognize different forms of online harassment, know where to turn for help, strengthen their self-confidence and self-advocacy skills, and find a supportive community for sharing their own stories.

What can be expected in the coming months?
- Trainings for disadvantaged mentored children in rural and Budapest locations,
- Preparation and training of mentors on the topic of online safety,
- The publication of thematic content, posts, and a practical training guide on E-mentoring’s online platforms and social media channels

Why is this program particularly important?

Because digital harassment is no longer just an “online issue” - it is a real, everyday problem for many young people.
E-mentoring’s goal is to ensure that children:
- do not feel left alone,
- know that help is available,
- and can be part of a community where they feel safe both online and offline,
- all while representing the perspectives of girls and women within this issue, contributing to a more equal world.
