In our new series of paired interviews, we introduce the students who study together in the E-tanoda program. We kick off the column with the pair of Illés and Tomi. Illés started mentoring with us this year, while Tomi is a veteran. This school year, the two of them have brought Budapest’s downtown and Gilvánfa a little closer together. Let's see how they perceive all this.

What are the three things that best describe you?

Tomi: Persistent, goal-oriented, courteous

Illés: Curiosity, faith, perseverance

Why did you apply to the program?

Tomi: I applied to the program to improve my grades, which is important for further education.

Illés: Within the framework of IKSZ (school community service), for the opportunity to teach and present.

What do you think about your study partner?

Tomi: Cooperative, always well-prepared for our sessions, we get along easily.

Illés: He pays attention and perseveres, even during our double sessions. He works disciplined yet enthusiastically and puts in everything necessary for his success.

What is the biggest challenge for you as a mentor/mentee?

Tomi: I can't think of any challenge, I overcome everything.

Illés: Motivating Tomi.

What has been your greatest success?

Tomi: Getting better grades, especially in history.

Illés: Tomi's physics test got an A.

What message do you have for future mentors/mentees?

Tomi: Be persistent! Hard work always pays off!

Illés: Don't worry, take it easy!
