Surely you've heard that E-tanoda has made it into the Edison Platform's top 100 super selected initiatives. But what does this really mean?
The Edison Platform is a community initiative aimed at gathering and motivating organizations and foundations that work on children's development using various innovative methods. The initiative's essence is twofold: drawing parents' attention to the importance of specific competencies and encouraging business stakeholders to take responsibility. The program offers opportunities for active participation for parents, organizations, and business decision-makers. The main goal is to play a role in shaping children's futures!
Applicants were reviewed by a professional group and placed into one of eight different categories. These categories represent the areas to be developed, and organizations involved in enhancing these competencies were included. This year's categories were:

Health
Opportunity
Sustainability
Creativity
Conscious Parenting
Science
The 21st Century Pedagogy Foundation / E-tanoda Program was selected in the "Opportunity" category.

Who are we? - Reminder :)
E-tanoda is a peer mentoring program where elite high school students from Budapest teach disadvantaged students on a weekly basis. The lessons take place online using digital learning materials, and participating students can get help in almost any subject.
Through the collaborative work, mentees achieve better grades, become more confident and motivated, and often set new goals for themselves. High school mentors gain significant experience (e.g., in collaboration, ICT, or communication), which they can use in almost any area of life. Additionally, they develop in education and gain experience in socially sensitive topics.

Our training is primarily available online, but sometimes offline as well. We organize camps and workshops several times a year. Our mentees are 7-14-year-olds, mostly from Ormánság, who come from the South Transdanubia, Northern Great Plain, and Central Hungary regions.
