Want to help in other ways? Our foundation is also looking for volunteers to create educational materials, and there are opportunities to get involved in organizational work, including communication, marketing, and fundraising! You can apply for these roles through the same questionnaire.

For our volunteer mentors, we organize a semester kickoff meeting where existing pairs reunite, and new mentors and mentees meet each other to form study pairs. We play games, get to know each other, and prepare for the semester. The meeting will be held on February 15-16 in Budapest.

What happens at E-tanoda?

At E-tanoda, new acquaintances are made, friendships are formed, and we share what we know with each other. Mostly high school and university mentors help disadvantaged students with various subjects via Skype, develop digital learning materials, discover their own abilities, and explore the teacher within them through a series of personal meetings and virtual classes.

Who is E-tanoda for?

It’s for students and university students interested in social issues who want to meet children from different parts of the country, actively help them, and try their hand at teaching. It’s also for those interested in technology, the digital world, and its possibilities.

It’s also for adults who want to volunteer for a civil organization, offering their knowledge, time, and enthusiasm to connect as many disadvantaged students and willing helpers as possible.

What is the schedule for the semester?

We will hold a personal meeting in Budapest on February 15-16, after which Skype mentoring will begin. Throughout the semester, mentors will gather for regular discussions, and the semester will conclude in June, in line with the school’s grading period.

How are mentors and mentees paired?

At the kickoff meeting, we play games and get to know each other. By the end of the program, we form study groups in which the joint learning will take place.

How does Skype mentoring work?

We prepare everyone for this, demonstrating the use of the teaching software, which is very simple. We provide methodological training for mentors to ensure a smooth transition from student to "teacher" in E-tanoda. Those interested can also learn to develop digital learning materials to complement their Skype lessons.

How do we recognize the work of mentors?

Our student mentors receive certification for the community service completed with us, fulfilling the required 50 hours of IKSZ for school. For university students, we can also provide credit for community practice or professional internships.

Can I meet others during the semester?

Throughout the semester, mentors gather several times to share experiences, discuss successes, and address any issues encountered during mentoring.

If I don't sign up as a mentor, what tasks can I take on?

We appreciate all help and will only assign tasks that you are happy to do. These tasks can range from pedagogical work supporting study groups to marketing and fundraising activities.
