The publication “Sensitive Mentor – with a Legal Perspective” presents a detailed methodological outline of an in-person mentor training designed to support the preparation of young mentors participating in the E-tanoda mentoring program. The aim of the training is to help mentors be more conscious and sensitive in their relationships with mentees while developing their communication skills, empathy, and reflective thinking.

The training is based on experiential learning methods: playful warm-up activities, social awareness exercises, structured debates, cooperative discussions, and reflective tasks help participants reflect on the role and responsibility of mentors through their own experiences. The program explores topics such as understanding social differences, developing empathy, standing up for others in a community, and the mentor’s role in building supportive relationships.

The publication presents the steps of the training in detail, including the objectives of each activity, the required tools, and suggestions for follow-up discussions. The methodology pays particular attention to helping mentors recognize differences in life situations and opportunities, and to respond thoughtfully and responsibly to the experiences of their mentees.

The publication is intended for mentors, teachers, and youth workers who work with mentors or young communities. The activities can be flexibly adapted for mentoring programs, peer-support training, or youth community development, helping mentoring become a meaningful learning and community experience for participants.
