Online Mentor Training and Workshop Plan: Understanding the Mentee and the Mentor as a Member of the Child Protection Signalling System
This methodological publication presents the detailed plan of an online, experience-based mentor training, designed to support the preparation of young mentors participating in the E-tanoda mentoring program. The aim of the training is to help mentors be more conscious and confident in their relationship with their mentees while developing their communication, reflection, and problem-solving skills.
During the training, participants work through various exercises that address topics such as the mentor–mentee relationship, supportive communication, handling conflict situations, and basic legal awareness. The program is built on discussions, joint analysis, and creative tasks, encouraging mentors to reflect on their own experiences and to think more consciously about the role and responsibilities of a mentor.
The publication is intended for mentors, teachers, and youth workers who would like to facilitate structured yet flexible training sessions for young people. The activities are particularly suitable for mentoring programs, peer-support trainings, or youth community development initiatives.
This publication was created with the support of the “Our Common Values” Program.
