About

Our mission and activities

E-tanoda is an innovative mentoring program that has been operating since 2017, where high-performing high school students help their disadvantaged peers develop through online classes, supported by university student volunteers. Our goal is to build bridges using 21st-century pedagogical methods and digital tools, thus providing every student with the opportunity for academic success and the formation of valuable human relationships. We believe in the power of community, the importance of friendships, and the ability of the internet to bridge both physical and intellectual distances.

Become an E-tanoda member!

01
Apply!

We operate on a two-semester system. You can find our application form on Facebook and here in the News section at the beginning of September-October and January-February! If you want to join during the year or have any questions, email us at 21pedagogia@gmail.com! We will respond within a few days!

02
Attend the "first training" and choose your task!

To become an E-tanoda member, you need to attend the "first training" after applying. Here, you'll learn all about us and the tasks ahead. If you are a high school student, you can be a mentor, content editor, or help with graphic and marketing tasks. As an adult or university student, besides mentoring, you may have organizational, trainer, or supervisory roles. These tasks and your mentee will be discussed in a personal call after the training.

03
Be part of the community!

Although E-tanoda primarily involves mentoring, we meet online once a month for a training session on Discord and occasionally in person. These trainings support the mentoring process, but we also meet at summer camps, conferences, or even game testing sessions! Years of experience have shown that E-tanoda becomes a truly great experience for you if you make friends and become part of the community. Chat, be present - we will be here!

Feedback from mentors - mentees - parents - teachers

What they say about us

"Of course, it helped me to get the 50 hours, but I considered E-tanoda a really valuable experience. I’ve always been interested in teaching and working with children, so it was great to try myself out this way and experience such a situation from the other side."
Small Peter
“I love to think back to those moments when the little girl joined the video call and started talking so freely about her day or her week, as if we had been friends for a long time.”
Big Jones
"What I will carry with me forever is the visit to Fonyód, and I liked it so much that I didn't even want to come home. It was well organized, and I really enjoyed the conversations and games with the children."
Mentor
"A fond memory of mine is when my mentee called me a friend."
Mentor
“It was great to meet you, who help the children and also us - in teaching them better. I was glad that mentors came from farther away too, so I could see how many of us there are and that we are not alone on this journey. :))” /a mentor about the teaching activities in the Program/
